The RM0.78 chaos

It's 3 more minutes to midnite. But nevertheless, I'm pretty sure there are still cars queueing up at the petrol stations. I know Malaysians like the last minute adrenaline rush, but can you really blame them when most of us get to know about this when it's nearing to the end of office hours today? What's the rationale wahai readers yg bijaksana? Tolong la explain, kenapa suka buat rakyat panik/suspen/kelam kabut and result in chaos?

Dahla hujan, traffic light rosak and everybody is trying to outfront each other and cut queues. Not expecting this, B had promised me earlier today to leave his office at 6pm so that he will reach at my office around 7pm and we'll go for dinner somewhere near before heading home. He knows I'm feeling depressed, although nothing to do with him but he still wants to cheer me up. He left office at 5.45pm. I left my office at 7pm as there's nobody around and aku dah start takut. Lepak kat bawah. You know what time he reached my office? 8pm! Massive jam. I don't know, but I think it's more due to the petrol price rather than the fact that it's raining.

What normally be a 5 minutes journey from my office to my house has gone up to 35 minutes. It doesn't help that one of the biggest Petr.onas and S.hell station in KJ is 5 minutes away from my house. I tried every possible short cuts and jalan dlm to my house but all roads leading to my house are occupied with cars heading to the petrol station. Stress. Madness.

My sister had also endured 2 hours journey from Buk.it J.alil to KJ, which normally took 20 minutes. If she's driving, then make it 15 minutes :). I called her several times, updating about the faulty traffic light and also the entrance roads to our house but she was still stuck. She arrived home at 10pm, hungry and tired. Her car tank is only half full but she's not bothered to join the queue, not worth it setakat dapat jimat RM20 for tonight.

Actually B punya kereta dah kosong sangat dah when we passed by the petrol station near our house tapi sbb we were both tired, and looking at the queue, we decided to head home first. Mandi, sembahyang, dinner then we went out again, feeling fresh. At first we plan to jalan2 to KE.SAS and fill up petrol there as we think that it's better kat highway dari petrol station kat housing area sbb confirm berderet punya. But Tiyah citer, LDP all the way jammed. So, we all masuk Fede.ral instead. Memang lengang, so B drove slow2 and we decided to singgah S.Alam punya petrol station tepi Fed Highway. It was only 10-15 minutes wait and it's done. Balik singgah McD KJ and from there, we can see that the LDP was still bumper to bumper jammed. And it's 11.30pm! Gila..

My brother in law finished his shift at 10pm and only able to join the queue then. He called at 11.50pm, still in the queue. Tempat kitaorg gi isi minyak tadi pun, motor pun join sekali 'memeriahkan' queue.. Kesian my brother in law, what to do? And family yg ada 4 kereta ke, puas la semua family member terpaksa keluar isi minyak kereta masing2 malam ni.. sebab nak jimat RM20 - RM30 for tonight, and one week's time nak tak nak, isi la minyak dgn harga baru. Tak boleh ke announce something like 'It will be effective 15 June' ke or '1st July' ke? Oh, takut rakyat salah guna kut, 'abuse' by isi minyak dlm tong2 dan simpan? But can you really control it tonight if petrol station can also 'take advantage' by saying minyak dah habis and keep the rest of the 'stock' for the new price? Senyum lebar diaorg tido malam ni. Pastu harga barang pun naik. Pi mai pi mai tang tu jugak.

We calculated tonight. B's full tank costs RM80 before 12am. After 12am, his full tank will cost RM108.. makan roti je la lepas ni :)

Yg ada kereta turbo tu, selamat 'menikmati' harga minyak baru :)

Ye la Amy. I was on the to pick-up Aiman when I heard from the Radio pasal harga naik tu (lembab aku). Pas tu hujan lebat tak hengat. Jam bukan pasal hujan, pasal minyak. Siap gaduh ngan hubby pasal dia beria nak join the q. Not worth it. Minyak baru isi 2 hari lepas. Sib baik dia tak pergi. AKu bukan apa, masa tu tengah sedih mengenangkan nasib diri. Camna la nak hidup tenang sket? Barang dah tentunya akan tambah naik harga. Struggle la kami. Risau la.

Sha - Memang naik hangin..addeh paham sgt dgn keadaan jalan kat tempat awak tu lagi la stress kan? Akak tak paham kenapa tak boleh bagitau kata bagi tempoh seminggu ke sebulan dari buat org camni. Kat office tadi pun semua citer pasal ni. Org kita kan cepat panik, dengar rumours je cepat je. Tadi kat Giant akak tengok ada yg sampai heret 2 trolley barang. Maybe nak beli siap2 sebelum harga brg naik, but banyak mana nak beli? Takkan nak beli stock setahun? Tak masuk akal kan?

Aishah - Tu la...naik angin. Letrik pun naik..tak tahu la nak ckp apa.

Nomee - If we have the choice yesterday, mmg tak koser nak join the queue - the waiting and the stress is not worth it. Tapi dah kebetulan minyak keta dia mmg dah habis, terpaksa la... aku tak tahan dgn jalan masuk ke rumah aku tu sbb ada 2 petrol station dekat rumah. Takpolah Nomee, sabo2 kan je la. Kena cuba membeli dgn bijak, walaupun payah.

Kak Nomee - Barang sure naik, what I'm interested to know is how do they deal with it. Pantau ke? Tambang bas naik, harga makanan naik..peniaga tak nak tanggung, all cost pushed to user. Purchasing power pun dah takde. Makan roti loh!

Oh lagi satu...kalau public transport tip top, I'm sure people would rather opt for public transport but in reality it sucks.

my full tank used to be about RM100. takyah buang masa nak kira la how much it costs now kan...

my tank masih minyak harga lama which i filled abour 2 days before the announcement. damn... takut jugak nak tengok meter pump tu nanti bila kena isi minyak this one or 2 days....

seriously, i tak kisah la kalau terpaksa makan roti ke or tukar beras to beras subsidi kerajaan instead of the usual super beras wangi but the government should also prove to us that they are doing their part to berjimat-cermat ie. publish their monthly electricity bill since we are also paying for their electricity, mansuhkan all allowance since private sectors pun tak semua get to enjoy allowances so that whatever they want sekarang need to be paid for thru their own basic pay and that they have to turun padang more often, ie. every week kena ada at least 1 minister ikut turutan naik lrt, bas rapid KL bla bla bla...

geeshh.

Hope you're doing well. Yup, I agree with you. Diaorg ingat kita swasta duit kita banyak sangat... Oh, I would love to see them using the public transport, baru dia tahu how it sucks :)

aku beli minyak kat hiway NKVE, tak ramai! tak sampai 5 minit dah dpt beli minyak dah hehehe ramai nak bayar tol to get petrol but if we can save RM30 for the last time (which is better used for eating), why not kan! :)

Kod - Ko bukan keje PJ ke? Gila lama ko stuck kan? LDP tu mmg hampeh la. Naik tol sampai 6o sen tapi takde perubahan infrastruktur pun. Kalau aku dari Bkt Jalil and lepas bayar tol ldp nampak macam panjang jek, aku mmg tak sanggup nak lalu. Aku lebih rela masuk sunway-subang-fed highway dan masuk balik ke KJ. Lagi jimat masa dari nganga tunggu situ, jauh sket la tapi sampai cepat.

Zied - Tak terpikir pun time tu Zied, yg aku dgn Zul tahu nak cari petrol yg tepi highway. Walapun rumah aku 2 mins je dari petrol station, aku tak sanggup nak queue mlm tu. Azab. F.Highway is much better choice at that time.
